I am currently a student Majoring in Liberal Arts/Social & Behavior so after I get my bachelor's and get my teaching credentials I can become a teacher for K-5 grade kids. I am currently babysitting for my neighbors, and I am also the eldest of 4 children, so I have plenty of experience with kids as well as caring for kids. I have also interned at an after-school program and loved the work I was doing so that expanded my passion of working with kids. I am currently 18 but I know how to cook since I am the one cooking for my family and love to help my mother with cooking and caring for my siblings.

Hi! My name is Laura, and I am currently a full-time college student in my third year, majoring in Child and Adolescent Development with a concentration in Community, Health, and Social Services and minoring in Early Childhood Development. I have hands-on experience taking care of my siblings and children from family members, which has given me a strong foundation in understanding children's needs across various age groups. My academic background and personal experience have equipped me with practical skills and a passion for nurturing young minds. I am experienced in preparing nutritious and kid-friendly meals and snacks, ensuring children are well-fed and happy. I am also comfortable assisting with educational activities and assignments, making homework time more manageable and productive. I enjoy organizing creative play, including arts and crafts, storytelling, and games, to keep children engaged and entertained. Additionally, I am knowledgeable about creating a safe environment for children and have plans to pursue CPR and First Aid certification to enhance my caregiving abilities. I have a valid driver’s license and am able to drive children to and from school or other activities as needed, ensuring they arrive safely and on time.

I’ve had the chance to work with kids in a few different roles. I started as an assistant teacher at a preschool daycare, helping care for young children. Then, I became the head instructor at The Tutoring Center, where I worked with students to improve their academic skills. Right now, I’m an after-school care teacher at The Children’s House of Los Altos, helping kids with their homework and keeping them busy with fun activities. I really enjoy working with kids and love watching them learn and grow in different ways, which makes each job feel so rewarding.

I love babysitting because it’s rewarding to nurture and connect with kids, helping them learn, grow, and feel safe. Every child has a unique personality, and I enjoy discovering their interests and finding creative ways to engage them. Whether it’s playing games, helping with homework, or listening to their imaginative stories, I value being a positive influence in their lives. Babysitting teaches me patience, responsibility, and empathy while providing a chance to create fun, memorable experiences. It’s fulfilling to know I can provide support and comfort for both the kids and their families when they need it most.
