I am an experienced nanny with a good sense of humor who is a responsible, fun, and loving caretaker. In recent years I have worked in animal care, but I am looking to return to nannying now that I am a new mom myself with a 3 month old daughter. I am looking for a family that would be open in hiring a nanny-mom, that is, a nanny who brings her child to work with her.
My childcare style is gentle, responsive caretaking that facilitates the development of a secure attachment. I do not believe in the "cry it out" method as children need a soothing adult to co-regulate with them in order to learn how to self-regulate their emotions. When it comes to problem behaviors I believe in finding the need that the child is trying to get met behind the behavior, and teaching them a more appropriate way of getting that need met using positive reinforcement techniques. I enjoy engaging kids with reading, singing, imaginative play, arts & crafts, and trips outside. A bonus skill I have is that I took 3 semesters of American Sign Language in college and am able to use it with children that are still developing their communication skills.
I have my own car and a clean driving record. I'm happy to provide a background check upon request.
I would love to hear from you to determine if I (along with my baby) are a good match for your family!
