A Brief Background - Child Care and Private Nanny
My name is Hollie Ann Hoffman. I have years of experience working with children of all ages in various environments.
In my early/previous work before becoming a Nanny, I worked for a before-school and after-school care program for public schools where I completed training in restorative practices and obtained the number of training hours required by the Department of Human Services. Received certification in CPR, first aid, and mandatory reporting. Created value by implementing daily programs and various activities, including; physical fitness, STEM, literacy, social and emotional learning, and art/expression.
Result: Worked with unabridged integrity and promoted good values by providing enrichment activities that encouraged children to further their education and social development by participating in creative, technical, recreational, and interactive opportunities. I served the community by providing safe and developmentally appropriate childcare for grade K-5 children.
I continued my work and received experience as an associate teacher at an early learning preschool academy.
While I was a student attending the University of Iowa from 2011-2013, I became a Private Nanny for a 2-year-old boy. Further down the road, I was a private Nanny for a 2-year-old boy and a 5-year-old girl. My primary responsibility was to ensure the safety and well-being of the child within their private household and outside of it. I was responsible for preparing and serving healthy meals and snacks and ensuring the children were well-nourished. I assisted with personal hygiene and helped in the potty training stages. I engaged the children in activities that promoted their cognitive development, motor skills, and social skills. I made ample time for play and physical exercise such as walks, and trips to the park and we explored the world around us. I set boundaries and guidelines, reinforced positive behavior, and addressed misbehavior in a consistent, calm, and effective manner that aligned with the family's values. It was important for me to build a strong supportive relationship to help foster a sense of security and trust. I effectively communicated with the parents so that we were all on the same page. When it was necessary I ran errands and transported the children to and from school.
I recently moved to Queens, NY. I'm an Entrepreneur working in stealth mode and pursuing my dream of leading a planetary health company that will have a positive impact on the repairing and decarbonization of our planet.
I'm looking for full-time or part-time work to supplement my income, and my passion is mentoring our youth. I have the right attitude, I’m patient, compassionate and kind. I can learn from others and adapt quickly. I strive to mentor and guide our youth and give them the confidence and support they need to carve out their own path someday and contribute more to their lives and their society. I will give your family my best.
